Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. P.K. Bharti highlighted that, like every year, the university continues its tradition of celebrating Ramadan by hosting an Iftar party, reinforcing the rich cultural harmony of India’s Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb.
Mr. Syed Nizamuddin, Additional Pro-Chancellor, emphasized the significance of unity and mutual respect, stating that the participation of all staff members in this Iftar gathering reflected a powerful message of peace, harmony, and brotherhood.
Prof. Shivani Tiwari, Registrar of Glocal University, reiterated that the core purpose of this event is to strengthen harmony and brotherhood within the Glocal family.
The event was jointly coordinated by Chief Proctor Jameerul Islam, DSW Swarnima Singh and Deputy Registrar Ms. Salma Parveen.
Faculty heads, professors, and non-teaching staff from various university departments participated in breaking the fast together, and the event concluded with a grand dinner.

Matribhasha Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Glocal University on February 21, 2025, to honor and promote linguistic and cultural diversity. The event aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes the significance of mother tongues in education, communication, and knowledge development.

Activities Conducted-

Essay Writing Competition: Participants expressed their thoughts on the richness and importance of their mother tongue. The competition encouraged students to reflect on how linguistic heritage shapes identity and fosters intellectual growth.

Speech Competition: Students delivered speeches in their respective mother tongues, celebrating the linguistic diversity of India. The competition highlighted the significance of multilingualism and the role of native languages in preserving cultural traditions.

The event witnessed active participation from students across disciplines. Faculty members encouraged students to embrace their mother tongues for academic and professional growth. The initiative resonated with the UGC’s directive to celebrate Matribhasha Diwas in a grand manner.

The celebration of Matribhasha Diwas at Glocal University successfully reinforced the importance of linguistic diversity and mother tongue education. Under the esteemed leadership of Prof. Dr. P.K. Bharti, the event inspired students to take pride in their native languages, fostering a deeper connection with their cultural roots. Glocal College of Ayurvedic Medical Science & Research Centre and Glocal College of Unani Medical Science & Research Centre organized a grand White Coat Ceremony at the university auditorium. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and a Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

Following the inaugural ritual, Prof. (Dr.) John Finbey (Pro-Vice Chancellor, AYUSH) delivered the welcome address. The event was further graced by the presence and motivational speeches of Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Sharma (Pro-Vice Chancellor), Dr. Nizamuddin (Advisor, Finance & Law), Dr. Shivani Tiwari (Registrar), and Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.K. Bharti, who guided and encouraged the students. The highlight of the event was the White Coat Ceremony, where newly admitted students were ceremonially donned with white coats, signifying their entry into the noble profession of medicine. This was followed by the oath-taking ceremony, wherein students pledged their dedication and commitment to the medical field with sincerity and service-mindedness. The oath was administered by Dr. Gorishankar, the senior faculty member of Glocal College of Ayurvedic Medical Science.

The event also featured cultural performances, with enthusiastic participation from students, adding vibrancy to the occasion. The ceremony concluded with a closing address by Prof. (Dr.) Rehan, Principal, Glocal College of Unani Medical Science & Research Centre, followed by the national anthem. The event was successfully conducted by Dr. Swarnima Singh, Dean of Students’ Welfare.
